The migraine diagnosis
We treat all forms of migraine: migraine with aura, migraine without aura, hemiplegic migraine, vestibular migraine, retinal migraine, ocular migraine, menstrual migraine, hormonal migraine, status migrainosus, abdominal migraine and so on. We treat migraine only.
Tension-type headache (TTH) often feels like a constant pressing or tightening sensation on both sides of the head, as if a tight band is wrapped around it. The pain is usually mild to moderate and lasts from a few hours to several days, or can even be constant. It is important to note that, unlike migraine, tension-type headache does not cause nausea or vomiting and generally does not cause sensitivity to light or sound.
Cluster headache is a severe form of primary headache, marked by recurring attacks of intense, one-sided headache, usually around the eye. These attacks are often accompanied by autonomic symptoms on the same side of the head, such as a red and watering eye, a blocked nose and sweating. Cluster headache attacks follow a typical pattern and often come in clusters, hence the name. A cluster period can last weeks to months and is usually followed by pain-free periods that can last months or even years. Cluster headache is considered one of the most painful conditions a person can experience.
Vestibular migraine is a type of migraine in which people have symptoms related to the organ of balance, the vestibular system. These can range from mild dizziness to severe attacks of spinning dizziness (vertigo). Other symptoms can include imbalance and difficulty focusing attention. As with other types of migraine, people with vestibular migraine often also have sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and/or headache.
Our migraine test helps you understand whether your symptoms may point to migraine.
